Who We Are

Ohuhu is a community of people in Umuahia North Local Government Area in Abia State of Nigeria. We are part of our country’s rich cultural heritage, and yet our people often do not receive the right support to continue thriving into the modern era. Helping them is the goal of our nonprofit 501c organization in Houston, Texas, USA.

Our Objectives

The purpose for which the organization is formed are as follows:

Number 1

To unite all Ohuhu people for the advancement of the Ohuhu Indigenes educationally, scientifically, socially, culturally and economically.

Number 2

To promote the infrastructural development of the Ohuhu community in Abia State.

Number 3

To foster good relationship between the people of Ohuhu and her members outside Nigeria.

Number 4

To promote and cultivate democratic awareness and civic responsibility among Ohuhu people.

Mission Statement

We the people of Ohuhu In Abia State Nigeria, residing in Houston, Texas and in Diaspora, it is our greatest interest to participate in the development and education of Ohuhu community, to promote Ohuhu traditions and cultures, and to seek ways and means to further the unity of all Ohuhu sons and daughters and humanity everywhere in the world, do hereby resolve the constitute ourselves into the Ohuhu Progressive Union Houston, Texas.
